Floods in Lyon: 150 firefighter interventions

On the evening of Wednesday, June 23, Lyon was plunged into total chaos. Indeed, a violent storm hit the city, surprising the inhabitants who had not checked the weather forecast.

A violent storm with torrential rains swept across the territory, causing impressive flooding , widely broadcast on social networks. The neighboring municipalities of Villeurbanne, Caluire, Vaulx-en-Velin and Décines were also severely affected.

The fire brigade was in great demand in the evening, with no fewer than 600 calls and 150 interventions, mainly for flooding in garages and cellars.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, although around fifteen residents had to be evacuated and relocated.

Hail has joined in the fun, giving some streets a wintery, white face.
