Gironde floods: eight municipalities benefit from the natural disaster order

Inondations Gironde : huit communes bénéficient de l'arrêté de catastrophe naturelle

At the beginning of February, many municipalities in the south of the Gironde department were affected by severe flooding . On Wednesday, February 24, an official list announced 47 municipalities in a state of natural disaster. Today, eight municipalities have been added to this list: Cabara, Fronsac, Giscos, Juillac, Pessac-sur-Dordogne, Pondaurat, Saint-Pierre-de-Mons and Vayres.

Flood victims have ten days to contact their insurance company and report post -flood damage.

The damage caused by these floods could have been limited or even avoided if residents had equipped themselves with prevention equipment such as OBLOC® flood protection bags or tubes .
